BET Awards 2017: Check Out The African Acts That Made The Cut For Nominations

The BET Awards 2017 is meant to be aired live on Sunday, June 25, at 8 p.m. ET. The list of nominees was released yesterday and not surprisingly, Beyonce led with seven nominations.
This year, however, Beyonce will be facing off against her sister, Solange, in some of those categories.
In the Best International Act: Africa category, Nigeria leads the charge with three artists.

Skales – “Man of the Year” Album Art + Release Date

Baseline records act Skales, real names Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, has revealed the album art for his long awaited debut album which he titled “MAN OF THE YEAR”.

In a series of posts on his social media pages, the young artiste revealed the album art + album title as well as release date which has been set for May 18th.

 

Meanwhile there’ll most likely be Olamide, Skuki as well as Zeez collaborations on the the album.

Soon-to-be-graduate and multiple award-winning afropop sensation, David Adeleke aka Davido has unveiled the exclusive tracklist for his well-anticipated sophomore album already scheduled for release in June of 2015.
As promised, the album contains spanking features and collaborations from artistes celebrated at home and abroad. From P-Square to Don Jazzy, Runtown, Uhuru, DJ Buckz all the way to Akon, Meek Mill, Wale and Trey Songz, the 20-track LP appears to be quite very promising. Even better, it comes loaded with the production from some of Africa’s best beat makers including Shizzi, Del’ B and Spellz… just to mention a few!

Olamide & Phyno – “2 Kings” (Album Art + Tracklist)

Last year, we brought you news that made rounds about rap kings Olamide and Phynoworking on a collaborative album titled 2 Kings. As it stands now, the album is set for release as the cover artwork and tracklist have been unveiled.
One of Olamide’s most recent releases, Confam Ni featuring Starboy Wizkid currently sits on the list as well as Phyno’s Une alongside 8 other new and never-before-heard tracks. Olamide and Phyno will be pace-setting a pioneer record in the Nigerian music history, as the first of Industry’s acts to present a joint rap album.
